Authenticity and Storytelling in Action: How I Finally Walked the Talk

For months, I hesitated.

I had built FIVE75, set up my website, and even started creating content—but when it came to putting myself out there, I kept holding back. Social media? I knew I should engage, but I didn’t. Sharing my story? It felt too personal, too exposed. And deep down, I realized the hesitation wasn’t about marketing strategy or time management—it was about fear.

  • Fear of stepping into this new role as a consultant.
  • Fear of what others might think.
  • Fear of failure.

And what’s funny? I already knew the answer to overcoming this.

Weeks ago, I wrote about brand authenticity—how people connect with realness, not perfection, and why showing up as your true self is the key to personal branding. (Read it here)

I also wrote about brand storytelling—how sharing your journey can create deeper connections and make your business memorable. (Read that one here)

Marketing is no longer about the stuff that you make, but about the stories you tell.” – Seth Godin

The problem? I wasn’t following my own advice.

I was telling others to be bold, be real, and own their story—yet I was still hesitating to fully step into mine. I wasn’t practicing what I preached. But that changed this week.

The Turning Point: Automation Freed My Mind for Creation

Last week, I set up a series of automations for FIVE75—automating blog distribution, social media posts, and other repetitive tasks. I didn’t realize it at the time, but that decision gave me mental clarity.

With the busy work handled, I had time to actually think, reflect, and create.

That led me to write and publish The FIVE75 Story and Vision, a deeply personal article about why I started this business and what I hope to build. It wasn’t easy to put out there, but for the first time, I felt ready. I no longer needed external validation.

And then something unexpected happened.

Cold Outreach & Proof of Concept

Feeling that momentum, I decided to take a bold step—I reached out to someone with a much larger social following for some quick advice on that article. I wasn’t sure if they would even see my message.

They did.

Not only did they read my article, but they also replied, saying “I think you have a really good pitch in there because every single business is struggling right now with automation and sorting through good stuff vs trash stuff.” They even asked to connect via LinkedIn and checked out my podcast.

To me, that moment wasn’t just validation—it was proof of concept.

FIVE75 isn’t just an idea anymore. It’s real. It’s valuable. And it’s beginning to resonate with people who already have successful brands.

The Lesson: Automation Isn’t Just About Efficiency—It’s About Freedom

I always knew that automation could save time, but this past week showed me its real power. It doesn’t just free up hours—it frees up mental space to think, create, and take bold action.

Because my workflows were automated, I was able to:
✅ Write and publish a story that defines my brand.
✅ Start actively engaging on social media without hesitation.
✅ Reach out to someone for advice and get a positive response.

And, most importantly, I was finally able to walk the talk.

In my brand authenticity article, I talked about the importance of showing up fully, embracing imperfection, and owning your story—and now, I finally feel like I’m doing that.

In my brand storytelling article, I emphasized how sharing your journey builds real connections—and this week, I saw that in action. By telling my story, I connected with someone who recognized the value in what I do.

The takeaway? Authenticity and storytelling aren’t just strategies—they’re foundations. But you have to be ready to step into them. And when you clear the mental clutter and automate the noise, that clarity comes a lot faster.

FIVE75 PRO TIP:

If you’re stuck—whether it’s in hesitation, burnout, or feeling like there’s never enough time—ask yourself: What tasks are taking up space in your mind that automation could handle for you? Because once you clear that space, the real work begins.

I’m all in. FIVE75 is officially open for business. And if you’re ready to stop drowning in manual tasks and start focusing on what truly matters, let’s talk.

🚀 Let’s build something that gives you time to think, create, and grow.
